Internship Sanya experience from Thai participant Unchalee Srichomphu
Front Office Coordinator
I would recommend this program for anyone who is interested in learning hospitality and gaining true Chinese language and culture.
I am Unchalee Srichomphu, I am currently an intern in Ocean Sonic Resort Sanya, my position is Front Office Coordinator. I have a strong intension to work about the tourism and hospitality because I love learning and travelling around to discover new places and meet new people. Moreover I am interested in Chinese language and culture because the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), which
official start in this year will become one of the major factors that impels the world and Thailand businesses. I believe this international operation is in need of personnel who are knowledgeable and have a wide area of abilities.
I have spent one month studying Intensive Chinese and working five months in the hotel in Sanya. I could say this is one of the greatest experiences of my life. I have never spoken Chinese before but after one month, I can communicate with the taxi drivers, order my own meal and ask local people for directions. Now I am learning about Front Office Coordinator’s responsibility and local hotel’s culture. My main duties are greeting guests and providing services. This hotel is an enjoyable place to work and friendly environment I am very glad that I have the opportunity to be a part of this big family.
The internship program in China
not only provides the opportunity to develop working skills but also gives me new experiences about Chinese culture and lifestyle. I would recommend this program for anyone who is interested in learning hospitality and gaining true Chinese language and culture.
